Chief Wolf Robe 1838-1910 Southern Cheyenne In 1876 the Cheyenne joined the Sioux and defeated Col. George Custer at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. In 1877 the Cheyenne surrendered and were forced to leave the open plains and were relocated to "Indian Territory: which is present day Oklahoma. It is widely held that the Indian profile on the Indian Head/Buffalo Nickel is Wolf Robe. Larger than life-size, hand carved smoke white imported natural marble. Signed by the artist. $16,000.00
